Using the knowledge we acquired in our Falls Prevention Research, we have developed an effective Restorative Program that reduces falls in Skilled Nursing Facilities. This SimplyFit-Otago© group falls prevention program is a 3-level modified version of the program that reduced falls 35% in New Zealand using 1000 community dwelling adults over age 75. We are the first healthcare provider in the US to successfully test and modify a group version of the Otago program, which was endorsed by the CDC as one of only 6 falls prevention programs in the world that could prove it was effective in reducing falls among the elderly.
